The Celtic fans in the Transfer Tavern have been reacting to their club’s tweet, looking back to Henrik Larsson’s goal in Celtic’s 1-0 win over Boavista in Portugal that put them into the UEFA Cup final against Porto. The tweet has attracted plenty of Celtic fans who are happy to look back over that famous win.

Unfortunately for Celtic, they went on to lose in the UEFA Cup final to Jose Mourinho’s Porto 3-2, despite equalising twice through Henrik Larsson. Despite the fact they didn’t end the competition with the trophy, the fans have still taken some great memories from the cup run, none more so than the 1-0 win away at Boavista. The Bhoys had been held to a 1-1 draw at Parkhead against the Portuguese outfit and were underdogs going into the game at the Estadio do Bessa.
Lady luck shined on the Glaswegians that day though. Henrik Larsson scored a famous goal with just over ten minutes to play as Celtic held on to reach the final 2-1 on aggregate. The goal is one of Larrson’s most famous in his incredible Celtic career. The Swede will forever be associated with Celtic after his seven years with the club between 1997 and 2004 and the 46-year-old will forever be welcome in Glasgow.
