Andros Townsend has struggled a little this season with fitness and form, two factors which have been significant in Crystal Palace’s poor goal return.
Roy Hodgson’s side have looked helpless in attack at times this season with 22 goals scored in 25 league games, yet Townsend’s return of one goal and one assist in 15 games shows he has contributed to that. The former Newcastle player had only made nine league starts by the time injury ruled him out of action in mid-December, and Palace’s form has tailed off without him.
Since he has been missing the Selhurst Park outfit have won just once in ten games, leading one fan to indicate that the winger was missed during his spell on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old’s return to action against Sheffield United last weekend is a positive, therefore, and Townsend took to Twitter recently to announce that he made his 200th Premier League appearance in that match, which has sparked a reaction from the Palace faithful.
