Arsenal and Liverpool fans have brought a tense atmosphere to the Football Transfer Tavern as the Express have reported that it is a head to head scrap between the two clubs for Juventus sensation Alvaro Morata.
Although it has been well documented in the Tavern that both sides are going in for the former Real Madrid youngster, punters are looking at which club will suit him best.
Firstly his choice is most likely going to depend on who qualifies on the Champions League, and with the way the title is shaping up, it is expected that one of them will miss out on the top four.
The reason why Arsenal are in a good place to secure his signature, is because they are famous for nurturing youngsters and with Morata being only 22, there is still a long way to go, in terms of his development.
Also they have had a recent influx of Spanish players as they currently boast four Spaniards in the side.
To add to that, at one stage or another he will inevitably have responsibility at Arsenal because they have become heavily reliant on Olivier Giroud, and they need someone else to take the pressure off of him.
Whilst on the other hand, Liverpool, who are becoming one of the most in-form sides in the league, have struggled at times due to a lack of quality strikers.
Because it is not like they don’t have the players, it is just that Brendan Rodgers doesn’t feel the likes of Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini are good enough.
And with Sturridge being considered injury-prone, Morata is likely to be called upon in big situations and could lead the line in front of the Kop for long periods.
