Arsenal and Tottenham fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are shocked to hear on talkSPORT that Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has gone back on his words, saying he wants to play more football for Southampton.
It was not until last summer when he was trying to force a move out of St Mary’s after their exodus of stars from last season.
And then despite their strong start to the season, even in January he was still looking to advance his career at a different club in the Premier League.
Arsenal and Tottenham were the main candidates to sign him, with the Gunners having shown an interest for some time, whilst Mauricio Pochettino was desperate to sign his former player at Saints.
But now that he has fully recovered from his groin problem, he looks fully focused on fighting for fourth spot with Saints.
“I’m fully fit,” Schneiderlin said after the defeat to Liverpool yesterday. “It was a good thing for me today because I felt sharp, I felt good, so hopefully I can kick on.
“I can’t wait because I am hungry, because I missed a lot of football.”
