Arsenal: Fans call for Diego Simeone to be appointed club’s manager

Arsenal fans were calling for Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone to be appointed as the club’s manager after being asked who should take over.

Fan channel AFTV put the question to fans on who they would choose between Mauricio Pochettino and his compatriot, with one fan highlighting fear as the reason for picking Simeone:

The 49-year-old’s time at the Wanda Metropolitano seems to be coming to an end, with reports in Marca (via The Sun) claiming that he could be sacked by the Spanish club.

Pochettino is already out of a job after he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last month.

Arsenal’s season went from bad to worse last night as the side succumbed to a 2-1 defeat at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The loss extended the side’s winless run to nine games, the north London giants’ worst run since 1977.

Fans seemed to prefer Simeone to Pochettino as they took to Twitter to give their response to the question.

Diego all day long but when will people wake up and realise we ain’t a top 4 club anymore who can choose any manager we like. Why would they come to us? We need to lower our expectations dramatically
