With the international break now upon us and the UEFA Nations League matches returning tomorrow night, international managers have been announcing their squads for the games and Joachim Lowe has recalled Bernd Leno to the German national team. A lot of Arsenal fans are delighted to see the 26-year-old get a recall and will hope he can get a start for his country.
Great news, @Bernd_Leno!

Bernd Leno is extremely unlucky to hail from Germany when it comes to international football. The former Bayer Leverkusen shot-stopper would be the number one man for most nations, but with Die Mannschaft having the likes of Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre Ter Stegen at heir disposal, Leno has been limited to just six caps in his international career and was unlucky to miss out on a spot in his nation’s 2018 World Cup squad.
Since the goalkeeper transferred to Arsenal over the summer he’s received limited game time and has mostly been the club’s second choice behind Petr Cech. Although Cech suffered an injury against Watford in the Premier League which forced Leno into action and so far the German has shone. With Cech still facing a few weeks on the sidelines, Leno has grabbed his chance, however, if he gets injured whilst playing for his country this week he could lose his chance to usurp Cech as number one full-time and leave his club having to play third-choice Emiliano Martinez.
