Arsenal fans have been drooling over Dayot Upamecano after his performance against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League, with many fans feeling that he is the ‘perfect partner’ for William Saliba next season.
Upamecano put in an impressive display in RB Leipzig’s 3-0 home win over Spurs, which meant that they won the tie 4-0 overall on aggregate. The 21-year old central defender notched up an 8 overall rating on Sofascore, the highest out of anybody on the pitch. Indeed, Upamecano made the highest number of clearances (5) and also fouls (5), showing his ability to break up play when Spurs were on the attack.
Impressively, the Frenchman has also made the most blocks on average per game out of any Leipzig players in the Bundesliga and the Champions League, racking up 0.8 blocks per Bundesliga game and 0.7 per Champions League according to WhoScored.
