Arsenal fans were elated after Crystal Palace midfielder Luka Milivojevic was sent-off for the Eagles in their FA Cup clash against Derby County yesterday.
The Serbia international was involved in an off-the-ball incident with Tom Huddlestone and had his initial yellow card upgraded to a red card after referee Michael Oliver consulted a pitchside monitor (via BBC).
It means the £22.5m-rated, as per Transfermarkt, Milivojevic will now miss his side’s next three Premier League game, starting next weekend as the south London outfit welcome Mikel Arteta’s side to Selhurst Park.
The two sides took part in a thrilling encounter earlier this season as Roy Hodgson’s side came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with the Gunners.
Milivojevic has a good record against the north London outfit, having scored five goals and assisted one in just seven games against the side (via Transfermarkt).
Fans seemed to be excited after the Serb was sent off in Palace’s cup tie as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
No penalty goal for him against us next week then https://t.co/pUvPFMjQjc
