Many Arsenal fans have voiced their excitement after the club were linked with a move for Le Havre midfielder Pape Gueye.
According to Jeunes Footeux, the Gunners are close to sealing a deal for the Frenchman, who could be set to become Mikel Arteta’s first permanent signing as head coach. The likes of AC Milan, Fiorentina, Udinese and Sevilla are also believed to be interested and have been tracking the Ligue 2 player.
One fan labelled the defensive midfielder a the ‘real deal’.

Gueye has been described as a mix between N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba by Spanish publication Estadio Deportivio. In comparison to Arsenal’s midfield options, the 21-year-old has started more league games than Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi (per WhoScored). The rumours over a deal being close to completion are clearly exciting the supporters as they took to Twitter to react to the report.
