Plenty of Arsenal fans have hailed Francis Coquelin after the north London club’s official Twitter page posted images of their former man in the middle of one of their ‘#ArsenalReloaded‘ series.
This episode focused on the Gunners 2-0 away win at Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, where a Santi Cazorla penalty and Olivier Giroud header back in 2015 won the game, moving Arsenal above their rivals Tottenham into fifth position, whilst City stayed in second, as per the BBC. According to the article, the Manchester club were unbeaten in 12 games in the Premier League prior to the match, with the Gunners ending that run.
Many Gooners remembered Coquelin’s performance that day, and heaped his praise underneath the posts. The Frenchman never actually scored a senior goal for the club, but did rack up 160 appearances in all competitions, making a handy three assists, according to Transfermarkt. The 28-year old now plays for Valencia and is rated at £17.1 million, as per the website.
These AFC fans hailed Coquelin, with one supporter calling him a ‘beast’:
