Arsenal: Fans happy after conflicting reports on Thomas Lemar

Arsenal fans have been displaying their happiness after conflicting reports on the latest news regarding Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Lemar.

According to Goal, the Gunners are not interested in making a move for the France international, due to the options at the side’s disposal.

The news comes after a week of speculation linking the north London giants with a move for the 24-year-old.

On Tuesday, The Independent reported that Mikel Arteta’s side are considering a move for the player as they prepare to possibly rival Tottenham Hotspur for the winger.

They reported that even a short-term deal wouldn’t be a cheap purchase, for either side, with a loan fee of €6m (roughly £5.1m) being mentioned.

Lemar seemed close to joining the club in the summer of 2017, however, turned down the club after Arsenal had agreed on a fee with AS Monaco (via Evening Standard)

After Goal refuted reports of a move for the player, fans took to Twitter to display their excitement at the fact the club aren’t interested in a transfer. Some even suggested who they should be targeting instead, with Hakim Ziyech just one name to pop up.
