Arsenal fans were happy after reports emerged linking the head of medical services Gary O’Drisoll with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.
According to the Daily Mail, the club are facing a fight from stopping the ‘highly-respected’ club doctor from joining Premier League rivals Liverpool.
O’Driscoll is considered to be ‘one of the best in his field’ with the Gunners said to be keen on retaining his services.
His previous roles include a job in Manchester in the 2000s and a stint with the British Lions and Ireland rugby team.
Liverpool’s current head of medical services, Andrew Massey, is set to leave his role to take up a similar position with FIFA at the beginning of March.
Fans were happy over the rumours that O’Driscoll could be moving to Merseyside as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:
Highly respected? We’re suffering from big injuries for years. There isnt any other big club whit so many injuries over the past 10 years. So please let him go.

It is high time Liverpool’s performance is put under check. One way is to send them that Dr.
