Arsenal fans have been lambasting Nicolas Pepe for his performance during last night’s harrowing defeat to Olympiakos.
The record signing was one of a number of players who performed horribly as the Gunners suffered a shock exit at home to the Greek giants. Pepe was lazy in attack as he was dispossessed the most number of times (4) and registered the most bad controls per game (3), as per WhoScored.
One fan called him the ‘worst player on the pitch’ as he lost possession a staggering 32 times, the most by an Arsenal player in the Europa League this season.

After reaching the final last campaign, the Gunners have crashed out at the first hurdle of the knockout rounds. The club’s only hope of reaching the Champions League will be via the Premier League with the north London outfit sitting seven points off the top-four. Pepe was terrible. Slow, started dribbling past opponents way too late in the game. He was brought in as an electric player, truth is he’s scared of 1v1 every single time
