Many Arsenal fans have been left scratching their heads after they were linked with an Eredivisie attacker.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are hoping to steal a march on their rivals in the chase for Feyenoord’s Orkun Kokcu, who would fetch a fee in excess of £15m. However, they are not the only team interested in the player, with some Spanish clubs also chasing the 19-year-old. Mikel Arteta’s side may have to move fast in order to secure the attacker after it emerged that he could be in Turkey’s squad for this summer’s European Championship.
The youngster has been in impressive form this campaign and averages 1.8 shots per league game, which would rank him joint-third when compared with Mikel Arteta’s men, as per WhoScored. Despite being described as one of the best emerging talents in Europe, many fans didn’t know who Kokcu was as they took to Twitter to react to the report.
