Arsenal fans have been mocking Unai Emery over his dispute with playmaker Mesut Ozil after it was announced the Basque-born coach was sacked.
Emery was let go by the club following the side’s loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League last night, a game in which he turned to the German when he brought him on in the 60th minute.
Ozil and the former Paris Saint Germain manager haven’t enjoyed the best of relationships during Emery’s time at the club.
According to one report, the former Germany international allegedly told Emery he wasn’t a coach following the club’s 4-1 loss to Chelsea in the Europa League final (via Fanatik).
The reports don’t end there with Bleacher Report (via Daily Star) saying that the midfielder believed he would’ve outlasted the manager, which proved to be the case.
Fans mocked the Spaniard due to the fact Ozil outlasted him during his time at the club as they took to Twitter to react.
