Arsenal fans on Twitter are going ballistic over rumoured £45 million summer budget

If the latest reports in The Daily Mail are true, then Arsenal fans will be left absolutely livid. The newspaper claim that Unai Emery is set to be given just a £45 million budget to work with in the summer transfer window, and they’re stewing at the thought of it.

Whilst the reports of the Gunners having to work on such a small budget may not be true and even if they are true that figure might change, they are seriously worrying. Unai Emery was brought in to deliver success post-Arsene Wenger, and he’s doing a fine job. However, if he only gets £45 million then there’s no way he’ll be able to address the issues in this Arsenal squad and could ultimately face the sack.

Arsenal’s issues in the current squad run deep. Emery will be well aware of the fact that his defence is about as effective as a sieve, whilst his complete lack of any effective wide-men means that he’d probably have been to add a new winger over the summer. Now, though, the dreams the fans had of solving their defensive problems and adding a new dimension to their attack have been dashed, and they can’t understand how a club as rich as they are can come up so short in the market.
