Many Arsenal fans have been discussing Rafa Silva after transfer news emerged from Correio da Manhã (via LTArsenal) that the north London club are strongly engaged with Benfica over signing him in the upcoming summer transfer window.
As per the report, the 27-year old finds a potential move to London attractive, leaving the Gunners hot on his heels. Indeed, Silva has enjoyed yet another fine season so far in Portugal, scoring nine goals and providing six assists in 25 appearances in all competitions, according to Transfermarkt.
If Arsenal sign the Portuguese international, then it could potentially spell the end for Mesut Ozil’s time at the Emirates, given that they both play in similar positions. Comparing the two men’s stats in their respective domestic leagues this season, Silva has scored more times and made more assists, whilst averaging more shots and dribbles per game (via Whoscored).
