Fans seem to love it when an academy product makes his way through the system all the way to the first-team. Well, supporters have been spoiled this season with the likes of Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Bukayo Saka all making starts for the senior side.
Indeed, there could be another forward about to join them at the Emirates Stadium and his name is Sam Greenwood. The 18-year-old was in devastating form last night as he scored a brace as the Young Guns won 4-3 over Brighton and Hove Albion in the FA Youth Cup.
One fan believes he is better than his namesake from Manchester United, while another called him a ‘beast’.

He has been putting in decent performances all season in front of goal, notching up just goals in eight league appearances for the under-18s. It’s a run of form that has seen him earn a spot in the under-23s squad, appearing three times for Steve Bould’s side (via Transfermarkt). As a result, fans were left lavishing the centre forward with praise after his goal-scoring exploits as they took to Twitter to react. Here is a selection of tweets from the Emirates Stadium faithful:
Talented lad. Do you think he can make it to the first team?
