Arsenal’s backline is extremely suspect. Unai Emery has very little reliable defenders at his disposal and you can understand his frustrations with the squad at the back. However, Spanish outlet Sport has claimed, via Sport Witness, that the Gunners are eyeing up a swoop for Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas this month.
Today’s Sport edition claims that Unai Emery is keen to sign Keylor Navas, who has requested to leave Real Madrid.
It is thought he can be got on a reasonable price, considering he has only 18 months on his contract left .

Whilst Arsenal are a shambles in a number of departments, the goalkeeping position is one that they don’t actually need to recruit in. Emery has both Bernd Leno and Petr Cech who he’s relying upon, and whilst Navas is undoubtedly a top goalkeeper, he’s just not what is needed at The Emirates, especially when the Arsenal will have a small budget and a large number of positions they need to bolster.
Wingers, central defenders and full-backs are an absolute must at The Emirates, and it’s about time Emery addressed those issues. He did his best over the summer to try and improve the squad but the truth is he just isn’t being given the resources he needs to turn the club around. The fans will need to be patient and not believe everything they read, as a lot of them have faith in Emery to turn things around.

Gonna be honest, this move makes hardly any sense at all. Hope these are just rumours

A new keeper is not the answer, centre backs is the way to go

The Gunners are adamant that they don’t need Navas, and will hope Emery can avoid making this transfer.
