Many Arsenal fans have wished Lucas Torreira a ‘speedy recovery’ after he suffered an injury setback in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over League One side Portsmouth in the FA Cup last-sixteen clash on Monday night.
The north-London club have since found out that they will play fellow Premier league team Sheffield United away from home in the quarter-finals of the competition, and Gooners will want Torreira to regain fitness and be available for that match and for other matches in the season.
The tenacious Uruguayan has made 33 appearances for Arsenal this season in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist (via Transfermarkt). Both of his goals coincidentally have come against Liverpool at Anfield, one in the EFL Cup and one in the Premier League, a place a lot of opponents are finding it hard to score at.
But perhaps his best or most famous goal for the Gunners came in the North-London derby at the Emirates last season, where the little midfielder found himself in the box to score and make it 4-2 to Arsenal, a day a lot of fans will surely remember as well as him, as it was his first goal for the club.
These fans were particularly wishful of a ‘speedy recovery’ for Torreira after Mikel Arteta spoke of his injury via the club’s Twitter feed:
