Arsenal and Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are handed frustrating news after The Express revealed that the agent of AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy has said Arsenal and Liverpool need to prepare a ‘sensational’ offer.

The Italian international has been linked with a January move to the Premier League but Arsenal and Liverpool will have to compete with a host of European clubs who are also interested.

The 22-year-old has bags of potential and pace to burn which is why it is no surprise Borussia Dortmund and Roma are also knocking on the door.

But his agent, Manuel El Shaarawy, has thrown a spanner in the works for the English clubs after saying the clubs interested will have to table a hefty offer to land him.

He said: “I have not been contacted by Borussia Dortmund, nor by Roma, nor by any other club,” the representative said.

“Stephan will not leave Milan in January unless there is a sensational offer, the type that no-one can be sure will arrive,” he said.

“He is at the centre of the Milan project, and the relationship with the coach and the environment is excellent.”
