Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are disappointed after talkSPORT revealed that they must wait until next summer to sign Cruzeiro sensation Lucas Silva.
Arsenal will go head to head with Real Madrid to sign the 21-year-old Brazilian as the Champions League winners share the same desire to snap him up.
Silva has been a stand out performer for Brazil’s under 21 squad as well as his club and this has led to teams from across Europe sending over scouts to take a closer look at the player.
However, Cruzeiro sporting director, Alexandre Mattos has said that they must wait until next summer before they can bid for the midfielder.
“We’ve held four formal meetings to discuss the future of Lucas Silva, but I’ve spoken with Real Madrid representatives over ten times,” said Mattos.
“In principal they are not intending to bring any players in during the winter transfer window and we have no urgency to sell Lucas.”
