Arsenal staff reportedly convinced this controversial deal will be thrashed out

Arsenal patrons in the Transfer Tavern are disgusted with news that many at the Emirates Stadium remain convinced Arsene Wenger will still be in charge next season.

Earlier this week, the Frenchman suffered arguably the most humiliating result of his generation-spanning Gunners tenure – an aggregate 10-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Arsenal have now been eliminated from that round for seven seasons in a row and with Wenger’s contract due to expire at the end of the season, many Arsenal fans – including those chewing our landlord’s ear off about Le Prof’s future on a daily basis – are calling for change.

Wenger has refused to give an answer on his future publicly but he already has the option of signing a new contract that would extend his spell in north London to 2019.

And according to The Daily Mail, senior Arsenal staff are convinced Wenger will still be in charge next season by signing a new deal with the club. In fact, Arsenal’s senior staff are described as ‘100% certain’, seemingly due to the fact Wenger has already identified his targets for the summer transfer window.

Majority shareholder Stan Kroenke is also said to be fully behind Wenger, with little chance of him withdrawing the two-year contract offer already on the table.
