The landlord is having to separate Arsenal and West Ham punters in the Transfer Tavern, as they continue to bicker over the future of Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson.
The home-grown starlet, who rose through the academy ranks at the Riverside Stadium before making his first-team debut in 2010, has been a key player for Aitor Karanka’s side this season.
Indeed, whilst Boro face the prospect of relegation due to their struggles in front of goal, they boast the fifth-healthiest goals conceded record in the Premier League and centre-back Gibson has played in every minute of their top flight campaign thus far.
According to London Evening Standard, that has pricked the interest of London rivals Arsenal and West Ham, whilst recent reports from The Sun have mooted him as a target for Manchester City as well.
The Hammers are said to be drawn to the fact the left-footed defender can operate at No.3 or in the heart of defence, whilst Arsenal have reportedly also shown an interest in the 24-year-old Englishman.
But it’s further added that Middlesbrough could seek up to £30million for Gibson, bearing in mind the enormous fee Manchester City paid for Everton’s John Stones last summer, a sum punters in the Transfer Tavern have deemed hard to justify.
