Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are appreciating just how much their veteran midfielder, James Milner, brings to the squad on and off the pitch. The praise from Jurgen Klopp (during his press conference posted on the club’s official Twitter feed) for his versatile midfielder comes just 24 hours before Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in a key 2nd versus 3rd clash.
Klopp: "Milner is an outstanding player. His experience, especially as a person, is very important in the dressing room. You always need these types of players."

Milner has consistently shown his importance to Klopp’s Liverpool, he was largely deployed as a left-back throughout last season despite naturally playing as a central midfielder. The former Manchester City man has also been in excellent form playing back in his favoured midfield role as he’s currently registered the most amount of assists in this season’s Champions League.
Milner will no doubt play a key role in tomorrow’s trip to Old Trafford as the Kopites that have been propping up our bar hope to take all three points from Manchester United to lift themselves above their Mancunian rivals in the Premier League table. The Reds will also be hoping Milner can continue his creative form in the Champions League as they find out their opponent for the quarterfinals in next Friday’s draw.
