Leeds United hosted Bolton Wanderers in the EFL Cup first-round tonight and despite only winning by one goal, they were good value for the victory and will deservedly take up a place in the second draw later. Patrick Bamford opened the scoring for The Whites to open his account for the club.

Leeds fans everywhere will be delighted to see that Bamford has opened his account for Leeds United and they’ll be hoping that this one is just the first of many. So far, the ex-Chelsea man hasn’t started a game in the Championship for Leeds thanks to the superb form of Kemar Roofe in the opening two games against Stoke City and Derby County. Although a lot of fans are keen to see Roofe and Bamford start together.
This season has so much promise for The Whites. Elland Road will need to become a fortress for the club to have any chance of promotion and it seems like Marcelo Bielsa has every intention of turning it into one. In the long-run, Bamford and Roofe starting together at Elland Road will need to be something that Bielsa can utilise as there won’t be many teams in the division who would be capable of defending against the pair.

What a bloody signing he’s going to be, could already have the Match Ball!! #MOT
