Barcelona: Fans react to news Ansu Fati could miss many weeks

Fati

Barcelona fans have taken to Twitter to voice their disappointment that their new young star Ansu Fati could potentially miss weeks of action if he were to be called up the Spain squad for the U17’s World Cup, per Sport English.

Fati has broken onto the scene in astonishing fashion at Barcelona, and at just 16-years-old, the La Masia product has scored twice in the first three games for the club [Transfermarkt], becoming their second-ever youngest scorer after Vicenç Martínez, who has held the record for 80 years.

However, despite helping fill the void of the injured Lionel Messi, the Catalans could be set to lose the teenager for up to three weeks if the Spanish U17’s were to require his services at the World Cup, which, based on current form, is likely to happen.

Incredibly, Fati scored just two minutes into his first start at senior level last week and although Luis Suarez is back, whilst Messi nears a return, Fati’s impact could well be missed, even with such a star-studded squad.

Here’s what the fans have had to say…

Club pay his wages not the country 🤷‍♂️

the little Argentine we have might be able to fill his shoes for the time being

— abhishek (@youngboytaco) September 16, 2019

let him go,he needs the experience and constant play time

— W.Kaunda (@Wana409) September 16, 2019

In reality he won’t have much playing time then so that would be for the best

— Coach Gordon Bombay (@GordonnBombay) September 16, 2019

Let him, he’ll learn from the experience and we’ll surely have Messi, Suarez, Dembele, Griezmann anyway. It’s like 20 days.
