Barcelona: Fans would prefer club to sign Mbappe over Neymar

Kylian Mbappe has already made a name for himself in his short career.

The young French star finished 4th in last year’s Ballon d’Or rankings after his performances for Paris Saint-Germain and France during a year which he became a league and World Cup champion.

Mbappe found the net 39 times in all competitions for the Parisians last term, whilst registering a further 17 assists, per Transfermarkt. He has become a global superstar since moving to the French capital for £166m in 2017, with pretty much every superclub in Europe desperate to sign him, something previously highlighted by the Independent.

Barcelona certainly fall into the ‘superclub’ bracket, and while links between the Frenchman and the Catalans have been rarely spoken about in recent times, there is no doubting that the La Liga champions would be thrilled to add him to their ranks.

Speculation surrounding Mbappe’s teammate, Neymar, and his potential return to Barcelona dominated the rumour mill throughout the summer, but it is in fact the 20-year-old who fans of the club would prefer to see their club sign in the future:
