The Chelsea fans have been reacting to Antonio Conte’s press conference where he claimed that Antonio Rudiger had been left out of the squad for Southampton at the weekend for tactical reasons only and that the player had not said anything wrong. Gary Cahill was played instead of Rudiger as the Blues beat Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s on Saturday.

Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Southampton on Saturday was a huge result for the club. The Blues were 2-0 down with twenty minutes to go before Olivier Giroud and Eden Hazard combined to provide the Stamford Bridge faithful with a huge comeback victory, giving them confidence as they prepare to face Burnley tomorrow and Southampton again in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday.
Antonio Rudiger was left out of the squad completely on Saturday with many fans believing it was because of a row between the player and Conte after the club were left frustrated as they drew 1-1 with West Ham at home the week before. Conte’s now debunked this rumour and will be hoping he can put it behind him as he gears up for their final league game before facing Southampton again in the FA Cup. Sunday’s semi-final is huge for Chelsea, as the cup competition provides the club with their last chance of winning silverware before the end of the campaign.
