The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling for their eccentric German gaffer, Jurgen Klopp to open the chequebook and bring Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann to Anfield. The Frenchman, who’s been valued at £90-million by Transfermarkt, was at the double last night as Atletico dispatched Marseille 3-0 in the Europa League final.
Antoine Griezmann has been a revelation in La Liga over the last few seasons. The French superstar has impressed for both Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad since he broke into the Sociedad senior squad in 2009. This season alone he’s scored 19 league goals and registered nine assists and it’s not too hard to imagine him giving defender’s headaches alongside Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino on Merseyside.
As everyone who follows will be well aware of, the World Cup is just around the corner. The tournament provides every player travelling to Russia with a chance to grab their dream move, and whilst Griezmann may end up moving on anyway if he can fire Les Bleus to World Cup glory he’ll have more suitors than he already does. Jurgen Klopp would do well to sign the talented second-striker, who puts up better numbers than the majority of classic number nines, and he’d provide a fantastic alternative to Firmino in the central striking position.

LFC need to rival Barca for Griezmann. €100m a snip tbh. The versatility to play anywhere upfront would fit seamlessly.
