Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are given disappointing news after Metro revealed that Borussia Monchengladbach star Christoph Kramer has hinted he could stay in Germany this January.
Arsene Wenger has been persistently linked with the 23-year-old in the run up to the January transfer window but the German starlet has quashed the rumours by expressing his desire to stay in the Bundesliga.
Kramer is currently on loan at Monchengladbach from parent club Bayer Leverkusen and has picked up a lot of interest after some impressive performances this season.
The 23-year-old is considered as one of Germany’s hottest prospects but sadly for the Gunners, he intends to further his career with Leverkusen once his current loan spell has finished.
Arsenal are not the only English side interested in landing the youngster with Liverpool and Tottenham also keeping tabs on the situation.
However, despite the strong interest, Kramer has insisted he wants to stay with Leverkusen to develop his career.
“At the end of the season, I’ll go back to Bayer. Not because I feel it’s my duty, but because I’m convinced by their plans,’ he said.
“Some very big clubs have shown an interest in me but at the moment I’m very happy at Borussia.”
Arsenal fans. If Kramer stays true to his word and remains in Germany this January, which defensive midfielder should Arsene Wenger turn his attentions to? Let us know your thoughts below.
