With the Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern absolutely delighted by their start to the season, reports from the Daily Telegraph have gone down a real storm today.
Indeed, they claim Jose Mourinho is set for contract talks with top brass at Old Trafford imminently. They are reportedly scheduled for November, at which point the Portuguese will be halfway through the three-year deal he penned in May 2016.
Though the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ delivered a the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first campaign in charge, any new agreement is believed to be centred around the Red Devils’ performances this season.
With that in mind, initial discussions are apparently set for November to enable a smooth conclusion to any potential agreement, much to the delight of our drinkers.
While Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford certainly split opinion, the fact he’s won trophies already while making the team his own has made him a very popular figure in our bar.
