The Leeds United fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite over the events of this summer. Indeed, after ending the last campaign under Paul Heckingbottom in rather miserable fashion, the punters propping up our bar are delighted to see Marcelo Bielsa arrive at Elland Road.
Well, if that wasn’t enough, yesterday’s confirmation that Lewis Baker would join the Whites on loan sent our resident Yorkshireman into absolute meltdown. The England U21 international, who helped the Young Lions win the Toulon Tournament two years ago and impressed on loan with Vitesse Arnhem, is certainly seen as a wonderfully gifted talent.
While Bielsa will clearly need to do more work on the transfer front in order to truly get his project in place at Elland Road, the loan signing of Baker has definitely raised the excitement levels amongst our local Leeds lot.
