Birmingham fans on Twitter were far from happy with their side’s performance against Norwich last night. After just 25 minutes they found themselves 3-1 down and that was how the scoreline stayed for the rest of the evening, although the fans were absolutely livid with the performance from Jacques Maghoma, who was below par throughout.

It’s always easier to pick out those who have been underperforming after a loss, and that’s the way that the majority of football fans are, but in this case, the criticism of Maghoma is certainly deserved. The ex-Tottenham Hotspur academy man failed to show anything throughout the game, as he was well and truly shut up by his full-back and seemed devoid of work rate throughout the clash.
Despite the loss and the poor performance from Maghoma, the Blues can’t let themselves get downbeat over the loss. Gary Monk has got them playing some amazing football and they’ve been punching above their weight for the majority of the season so far, as they sit 9th in the Championship. The next game is always the most important, and if Maghoma can inspire his side to an away win at Swansea on Tuesday then his dire showing from last night will be forgotten.

Why take Jota off He goes past people for fun. Maghoma didn’t beat his man once all night and was jogging (at best) for the full 90 minutes. Camp needs swapping out since about August. Top team Norwich though, will go up with Leeds.

Maghoma will be desperate to bounce back with a good display on Tuesday and will hope he can help his side bounce back with all three points.
