‘Boy ain’t going anywhere’ – Crystal Palace star delights fans with promising tweet on future

The Crystal Palace fans in the Transfer Tavern are over the moon today after reading a tweet from one of their star players, namely Patrick Van Aanholt. A story in The Sun has linked Juventus with a move for the Dutchman if they lose Alex Sandro this summer, although going off this tweet from the left-back, he’ll be staying put at Selhurst Park.

The Palace fans propping our bar up will count themselves lucky that they’re still a Premier League side. Last season saw the club lose their first seven games without scoring a single goal, effectively restricting them to a 31-game season whilst every other side played 38. However, thanks to their star players like Van Aanholt and Wilfried Zaha, they managed to stay up and finished in an incredible 11th place in the end.

Next season the club will be looking at kicking on under Roy Hodgson and extending their longest Premier League stay by another season. The club have a number of marquee players that they need to keep, and whilst Zaha is always the man with name in the papers, the likes of Van Aanholt and Luka Milivojevic are all just as important to the success of Palace.

Whilst Van Aanholt’s tweet will not guarantee that he will remain at the club this summer, the implication is that he is happy in South London and looking forward to the new season.

It’s obvious from the Palace fans’ affectionate messages for their star player that he’s a fan favourite at Selhurst Park. The fans will be delighted at his tweet as it’s calmed the nerves of those who may have believed he was heading for Italy this summer.
