A vitally important game in the context of Liverpool’s season, the pressure was really on Jurgen Klopp in the lead-up to the clash. With the prospect of a top-four finish still within the grasp of the Reds, a win was really the only option for the side.
However, for much of the game, that looked like an impossibility. Unable to break their duck, the stage was set for somebody to step up and take the game by the scruff of its neck – with key figures like Adam Lallana expected to bring the magic.
Despite that expectation, though, on the day it was another player that would break Watford’s hearts and produce Liverpool’s goal – with Emre Can popping up with a wonder strike.
