Talk of a crisis at Tottenham Hotspur is starting to be laughed at by the fans in the Transfer Tavern after Mauricio Pochettino’s side proved hugely impressive during the recent draw in the North London Derby.
Though Spurs have stalled somewhat ever since wiping the floor with Manchester City, there’s little doubt they remain one of the most solid teams in the Premier League.
In fact, that’s seemingly such a well-known fact that even a man snubbed on Hotspur Way is quickly able to admit it.
Speaking to Algerian paper Le Bebuteur, outcast midfielder Nabil Bentaleb has been praising the side and concedes Pochettino had a difficult choice to make after he missed out on a place in his squad.
The Algerian proved mightily impressive under Tim Sherwood during his short stint in charge at White Hart Lane, though saw his progress stall when the gilet clad market trader departed.
Options such as Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama occupy the holding roles under the Argentine coach and Bentaleb has been in a reflective mood following his loan move to Schalke.
“I don’t hold a grudge with anyone”, said the 21-year-old.
”The manager had a good season, and you can’t criticise him. Down my end, I got injured, and when I came back, it was hard to impose myself.”
