A number of Celtic fans have heavily criticised the Daily Record for an article they published in the wake of Fernando Ricksen’s death.
The 43-year-old former Rangers player died this week after a long battle with motor neurone disease, as reported by Sky Sports, and the Daily Record posted an article (which has since been deleted) which publicised Ricksen’s former team-mate Michael Mols‘ reaction to being informed of the tragic news.
Celtic supporter @officialkappa99 on Twitter took to the social media platform to castigate the Daily Record for their coverage of the story.
The daily record photographing and publishing Michael Mols at Glasgow airport as he was told the news Ricksen had died is the lowest of the low. Possibly even below standards the Sun would stoop to. @tedermeatballs you and your staff should be ashamed.

As noted by Sky Sports, Ricksen was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) almost six years ago and a benefit match for the former Netherlands international in 2015 raised £320,000.
Celtic posted their condolences to the family and friends of the 43-year-old on their official website celticfc.net, with club chairman Peter Lawwell paying tribute to the “immense bravery” shown by Ricksen following his diagnosis.
These Celtic fans on Twitter were appalled over the Daily Record’s publication of Mols’ reaction to the news of his former team-mate’s death:
They have no shame. Shut em down.

Apparently BBC Scotland going on about his off the field antics and past addictions in their news report. Have these clowns got no common sense ?

just stop buying/reading the chip wrappers, that's the one way to finish them.

Both Celtic and Rangers fans should stop buying that rag, would love to see it disappear.
