Plenty of Celtic fans have been reacting to comments made by manager Neil Lennon on Friday about striker Leigh Griffiths, which were shared by the club’s official Twitter channel @CelticFC.

Speaking ahead of Saturday evening’s Scottish Cup fourth round clash away to Partick Thistle, Lennon said that the 29-year-old “had a good week” at the first team’s mid-season training camp in Dubai recently, adding that “he’s hungry and he wants to play”.
Despite scoring 107 goals during his six years at Celtic, Griffiths has found game-time difficult to come by this season, with only 524 minutes played in all competitions and just one Premiership start so far in 2019/20. That came against Motherwell back in August, when he also scored the last of his three goals for the campaign to date.
The Scotland international now faces further centre-forward competition at Parkhead after the signing of Patryk Klimala for a reported £3.5m (as per The Scottish Sun) on Tuesday. On the day that the transfer was confirmed, Griffiths tweeted a GIF of him putting his fingers to his ears (via @Leighgriff09), sparking an angry reaction from some Celtic fans about his attitude.
However, following Lennon’s praise of the 29-year-old on Friday, these Hoops fans on Twitter called on the manager to utilise the striker more regularly, with some drawing upon the “hungry” comment:
Get him something to eat then and give him a game 😂
