Plenty of Celtic fans have been raving about Odsonne Edouard after the striker’s dramatic impact off the bench this afternoon.
The 22-year-old started among the substitutes against Ross County this afternoon due to a slight toe injury (according to BBC) but, with the Hoops just 1-0 to the good shortly after the hour mark, the Frenchman was brought on in place of Leigh Griffiths in the 63rd minute.
Edouard’s impact was instant – within two minutes of his introduction, he got his head to a Callum McGregor corner to double Celtic’s lead. Only three more minutes had elapsed when he weaved his way into the visitors’ penalty area before dispatching the ball to the net for his second goal within five minutes of coming on. [via BBC]
The 22-year-old’s quickfire double took his goal tally for the season to 19 in all competitions, putting him clear at the top of Celtic’s scoring chart for the campaign. Following his 51st and 52nd goals for the club, these Hoops fans on Twitter showed their appreciation for the French centre-forward, with one supporter believing he is worth £100m and another saying he “could walk on water“:
