Celtic fans were professing their love for Leigh Griffiths after the striker made some comments ahead of this Sunday’s Old Firm.
In an interview following his hat-trick against St Mirren, the centre-forward claimed that he was ‘born for Ibrox’ and also pointed out his great record away to the Glasgow outfit. In two starts at the home of Celtic’s city-rivals, the ace has scored two goals and assisted one, ending up on the winning side both times (via Transfermarkt).
One fan called him the ‘main man’.
The main man , why he was ever dropped for Copenhagen and Livingston is beyond me great to see the wee man back to doing what he does best @Leighgriff09 https://t.co/O0ZDEirBue

However, he has barely featured in this season’s fixtures against the Teddy Bears, making one cameo appearance across the three games in the Scottish Premiership and League Cup final. As a matter of fact, Griffiths has found game-time hard to come by this campaign and has played just 1368 minutes across all competitions as a result of a hamstring injury. Supporters were full of love for the 29-year-old after he commented on being ready for the fierce derby game. Here are some tweets:
Play him, give him the last laugh before he starts laughing all over again next season
