Liverpool have endured a challenging start to the 2026/27 campaign, with injuries and defensive concerns raising questions over whether the Reds need further reinforcements.

Barcelona are also considering a potential move for the centre-back in January, with Hansi Flick reportedly impressed by his profile. Real Madrid have likewise been linked, potentially setting up competition between three European heavyweights.

Stuttgart are in a strong negotiating position, with Jeltsch under contract until 2030. Reports suggest a substantial fee could be required to secure his signature, although the exact asking price remains unclear.

For Liverpool, the youngster could represent a long-term investment as they look to maintain defensive depth and prepare for future seasons. However, their reported interest has yet to develop into a confirmed formal bid.

With the January window approaching, Liverpool will need to decide whether another centre-back is a priority. Jeltsch fits the profile of a young defender with significant room for development, but Stuttgart’s valuation and competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid could complicate any potential deal.
