Celtic: Fans react to ‘then v now’ tweet about Odsonne Edouard

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard continued his excellent start to life with the France under-21s with another two goals in last night’s win over Czech Republic.

As reported by the Daily Record, the 21-year-old has now scored four goals in his first two games for the French under-21 side, following the double he notched on his debut against Albania a few days ago.

Following Edouard’s international exploits, Celtic fan @_AndrewAngus on Twitter highlighted a retrospective tweet about the player from September 2018 and compared it to one posted last night.

Almost exactly one year ago, Twitter user @AgentScotland tweeted that the Hoops forward was “a million miles away from being a 20 goals a season [sic] striker” – the tweet has since been deleted – before last night saying that Edouard could become the first £30m export from Scottish football.

After scoring 11 goals in 29 games in his first season at Celtic in 2017/18 on loan, the France under-21 striker hit 22 goals in 52 appearances last term upon signing permanently for £9m and already has six goals in 11 games for the club so far this season. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]
