Celtic: Fans slam Jack Hendry following club’s birthday tweet

A post on Twitter by Celtic wishing defender Jack Hendry a happy birthday has not received the greatest reaction from some of the Celtic fan base.

The centre-back signed from fellow Scottish side Dundee in January 2018 for £1.44m, per Transfermarkt, and even though he has been in the squad for two league title triumphs and three domestic cup wins, the 25 year-old has struggled since he made the move.

He only made 27 appearances in his first two years at Celtic and he now finds himself on loan at Australian side Melbourne City after making the move in the January transfer window.

Whether this is to get consistent game-time in order to try and break into the starting XI at the Hoops or if it is a move which the side hopes will become permanent is unknown, but it’s safe to say that some of the Parkhead faithful believe he needs to be jettisoned sooner rather than later, with one calling him a ‘wage thief’.

One thing for sure jack won’t be able to say he was welcomed as part of the mythical Celtic family when he eventually leaves.
