Celtic: Fans taunt Steven Gerrard over his criticism of Steve Clarke and Scottish FA

Steven Gerrard has accused Scotland manager Steve Clarke and the national team’s coaching set-up of being “careless” in their handling of Ryan Jack.

The Daily Record reported that Gerrard was unhappy with the 27-year-old being asked to do an intense session in the wake of a knee injury just two days after his club’s 0-2 defeat to Celtic, adding that the Scottish FA were aware of the situation.

Clyde 1 football phone-in Superscoreboard shared some of Gerrard’s comments on their Twitter channel @ClydeSSB.

Jack played the full 90 minutes for Rangers in the derby defeat to the Hoops at the start of this month, a result which saw Celtic open up a three-point lead on their rivals as they seek to win a ninth consecutive Premiership title.

Following that defeat, Gerrard has now lost three of his five matches against Celtic since taking charge at Rangers, having also been beaten in both Premiership meetings at Celtic Park last season. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]
