It seems as if ever since Brendan Rodgers arrived at Celtic Park earlier this year, the Bhoys propping up the bar in the Transfer Tavern have been in dreamland.
Though the Ronny Deila era at Parkhead saw the SPFL titans haul in two league titles, there was a feeling amongst our Glaswegian locals that their beloved Bhoys stalled under his stewardship.
However, Rodgers seems to have brought with him a barnstorming new dynamism and there’s barely been anything to moan about for the Hoops as they frequent in their droves.
Amongst our drinkers, the notion of Steven Gerrard moving to reunite with his former Reds coach in Paradise has certainly been an interesting one, as is linked.
Despite his age, the capture of the 36-year-old would be a major coup for the SPFL and perhaps the club’s biggest signing in recent memory, ever since Roy Keane moved north of the border following his release from Manchester United.
Now, talking to the Daily Record, Hoops star Scott Sinclair believes any potential move for the ex-England skipper would be a well-suited one for all parties.
Having left English football for Scotland himself over the summer, the former Aston Villa and Manchester City forward has shared his thoughts on the matter.
“I think any player coming here would get a buzz. Everyone I speak to can’t believe what Celtic Park is like on a Champions League night”, said Sinclair.
“It would be a massive thing if he came here and fans would take to him.
“He has not got a championship medal, so that’s another reason.
“Would he enhance the squad? Definitely. He is a world-class player.”
