Hibernian are braced to receive an offer from Celtic for winger Martin Boyle, according to The Times.

The Lowdown: Boyle at Easter Road

Boyle, described as ‘energetic’ by former boss Neil Lennon, has been on the books at Easter Road since 2015. The 29-year-old has made 264 appearances for the club during that time, scoring 63 times and registering 53 assists.

Boyle has enjoyed a fine 2021/22, contributing to 19 goals in 27 games and now holds a career-high Transfermarkt valuation of £2.25m, suggesting he is at the absolute peak of his powers.

His impressive displays appear to have caught the eye of fellow Aussie Ange Postecoglou, with links of a move to Parkhead surfacing earlier this month.

The Latest: Hibs preparing for offers

The Times shared a story in the early hours of Thursday morning, claiming Hibs are braced for offers from Celtic for Boyle.

An unnamed club from Abu Dhabi were also name-checked, with Postecoglou admitting earlier this season he is ‘well aware’ of Boyle.

The Verdict: January business not slowing up…

It seemed as if Celtic finalised the majority of their winter window business on New Year’s Eve with the acquisitions of Reo Hatate, Yosuke Ideguchi and Daizen Maeda, however, it appears as if there may well be further arrivals and Michael Nicholson is not letting up.

Youngster Johnny Kenny is expected to join from Sligo Rovers, whereas permanent swoops for loanees Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota are also being discussed.

Boyle could well be the icing on the cake when it comes to the start of 2022, and the Australia international's ability to play anywhere in attack could be extremely handy at Parkhead, adding depth in a number of positions as well as his obvious goal threat.
