Journalist Pete O’Rourke doesn’t think Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate will be in any rush to leave the club, GiveMeSport report.

The Lowdown: Hatate’s bright start

Hatate was one of five players to join the club in January and has arguably been the standout signing.

He has contributed to five goals in six Scottish Premiership appearances, three of which came against rivals Rangers earlier this month.

Pundit Noel Whelan has recently stated that the 24-year-old ‘will be’ wanted by Premier League clubs, such as been the extent of his fantastic form in Glasgow, whereas Gabby Agbonlahor thinks his value has already tripled since moving to Scotland.

The Latest: O’Rourke’s claim

Talking to GiveMeSport, O’Rourke had this to say on Hatate before Celtic’s clash with Dundee this afternoon.

“I think Celtic fans are enjoying having Hatate right now and I don’t think the player will be in a rush to leave any time soon.

“He seems to be enjoying his football and seems to have a lot of trust and faith in Ange Postecoglou.”

The Verdict: Celtic hold all the cards

It wouldn’t exactly come as a shock if sides from the Premier League came calling for Hatate in the summer due to his fine start to life at Parkhead.

However, the Japan international is under contract with the club until 2026, so you’d expect it would need a huge offer for the Hoops to even consider parting ways with Hatate six months after arriving.

Hopefully, he’ll continue to star under Ange Postecoglou over the coming years, and eventually, when the time is right, may move on which could earn Celtic a handsome profit.
