It was 14 years ago yesterday that Celtic completed the permanent signing of goalkeeper Artur Boruc (as per BBC), who had been on loan from Legia Warsaw since the summer of 2005.

Boruc made 192 appearances for the Hoops in five seasons at the club, conceding only 173 goals and keeping 76 clean sheets. [via TransferMarkt]
His trophy haul at Celtic consisted of three league titles, two League Cups and one Scottish Cup, while he was in the team that reached the last 16 of the Champions League in successive seasons in 2006/07 and 2007/08.
For many Celtic fans on Twitter, the standout memory of Boruc at the club was his penalty save in the dying stages of the 1-0 win over Manchester United in November 2006 that secured the Hoops’ first passage to the knockout rounds of the competition.
Here are some of those responses to the club’s tweet about the goalkeeper:
Got to be saving Louis Saha Penalty in the champions league to ensure we won 1-0 on the night thanks to a Nakamura special
