Celtic: These fans were ecstatic about Odsonne Edouard’s free kick goal against Motherwell

Plenty of Celtic fans on Twitter were raving about striker Odsonne Edouard after he added two more goals to his tally on Wednesday night, taking him to 23 for the season and seven in his last five league games.

The Frenchman got the Hoops off the mark against Motherwell after just nine minutes but it was his second goal of the night that had many Celtic fans in raptures. As noted by @CelticFC on Twitter, the 22-year-old rounded off the scoring at Fir Park in the 80th minute as he found the net with a masterful free kick from just outside the penalty area. He was also very close to claiming an assist after his cross for Leigh Griffiths was headed off the bar by his strike partner, as per Sky Sports.

Edouard now has 19 goals in the Premiership this season, making him by far the leading scorer in the division, with BBC reporter Jonathan Sutherland saying that “his quality shone through” and “at times he was unplayable”. These Celtic fans on Twitter also gushed about the 22-year-old after his sweetly-struck free kick against Motherwell, with one believing that he has surpassed fellow Frenchman and ex-Hoops forward Moussa Dembele:
